Judgment Begins with the Household of God
America, judgment has come upon you but you do not know it yet. Nevertheless, you so0n will. But because of God's mercy you have not yet truly experienced it - only a taste. First God's judgment must come upon the church. For it is the church which has failed America, because Christians have failed. We live in the same way that the world lives. There is no great distinction believers and non-believers. For example, the divorce rate is about equal for both.
In Noah's day there were warnings from God. But no one listened. Only Noah and his family. They were marrying and giving in marriage up until the very day that the rains came and the door of the ark was closed. What is going to happen to you America? What may determine that is the response of the American Church to God's warnings. But many "prophets" are still forecasting prosperity.
Whether the church listens or not the judgment of God will still come. It is already here. We are seeing the liturgical churches falling apart. And now we are seeing the same thing happen to the evangelical and pentecostal churches. What has been hidden is now being revealed. Do not be surprised to see the mighty ministers fall from grace. Some have already fallen.
"Beloved, do not be surprised at the fiery ordeal among you, which comes upon you for your testing, as though some strange thing were happening to you; but to the degree that you share the sufferings of Christ, keep on rejoicing, so that also at the revelation of His glory you may rejoice with exultation. If you are reviled for the name of Christ, you are blessed, because the Spirit of glory and of God rests on you. Make sure that none of you suffers as a murderer, or thief, or evildoer, or a troublesome meddler; but if anyone suffers as a Christian, he is not to be ashamed, but is to glorify God in this name. For it is time for judgment to begin with the household of God; and if it begins with us first, what will be the outcome for those who do not obey the gospel of God? AND IF IT IS WITH DIFFICULTY THAT THE RIGHTEOUS IS SAVED, WHAT WILL BECOME OF THE GODLESS MAN AND THE SINNER? Therefore, those also who suffer according to the will of God shall entrust their souls to a faithful Creator in doing what is right." (1 Peter 4:12-19)
Repent, American Church! Your nation is in need of you. God chastises us as a father would a son. If we are legitimate sons we would receive his word with joy. And then we would take our places in his kingdom as servants and witnesses to His glory. Then we would go into the highways and byways and compel the lost to come in. That would truly be revival. A revival without repentance and action is not any revival at all.
But we are legitimate sons and daughters of God through the blood of Jesus. Let us stand up and claim our heritage. Let us reclaim our covenant with God for ourselves and this nation.
